Josef Büche (1848-1917) was a genre Austrian painter who specialised in portrait paintings. He was a son of a painter and studied in arts at he the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under names like Carl Wurzinger and Eduard von Engerth. He was a recipient of an overall study award. He portrayed many family members of the imperial family of Austria. In 1883 he got membership of Vienna Künstlerhaus. He exhibited his art works at different art exhibitions. In his words, he also restored works by other painters.
