James Jacques Joseph Tissot was born in 1836 and was a French artist and illustrator and spend his earlier life there. His father wanted him to pursue career in business but he wanted to become an artist and painter. During maturity of his career he gained high critical acclaim and like his contemporaries such as Cloude Monet and Alfred Stevens he explored Japonisme including Japanese costumes and objects. Later in his career when many French artists were working towards impressionism and pointilism, James moved towards realism in watercolors.
He lived on this planet till 1902 and is still remembered as a great artist.
