Giovanna Garzonni was born in 1600 and died in 1670. She was a still life Baroque Era Italian Painter who was considered to be as the greatest and very renowned miniaturists of the 17th century. Her parents came from the family of artisans but were not artisans themselves.
Though Giovaana earned named for her wonderful miniature works but now very few of them have survived. She loved using watercolors and gouache instead of using oil colors that gave a very realistic and lively look to her still life works and other painting works.
