Jacques Louis David | 1748-1825 | Neo-Classicist Painter

Jacques Louis David was born on 30 August 1748 in France. He was a Neo Classicist Painter and was highly influential. He was one of the most preeminent painters of that era. In the 1780’s his new and different style made him the most cerebral brand of history of painting. He marked a change in taste and preference. He highlighted and pin pointed the feeling that chimed with the moral climate of final years of the Regime of Ancien. Jacques Louis Davis later also became one of the active supporter of the French Revolution, Jacques also became friends with Maximilien Robespierre(1758-1794).

He was one of the most effective and influential dictator of the arts under the French Republic. When Robespierre falls from power then he got imprisoned and associated himself with another political regime when he got released from the imprisonment and that regime was that of Napoleon I. Louis David used beautiful and warm Venetian colors and he developed his own style of painting. He is said have influenced a huge number of pupils which was evident from his huge list of followers. It is correct to call Jacques Louis David as one of the most influential academic salon painting artist of 19^th century. He died on December 29 in 1825 in Brussels, Belgium.
